Or not for Latin America but for Spanish or Portuguese. And even those examples are not perfect matches as there is probably not the cohesive cultural community that we do have around Catalan as a language. But only 60% or so of Ctalan speakers come from hwat is known in georaphic terms as Catalonia. So the distintion is imprtant. To us, to the proposal, and to the meaning for future TLDs, if any. * I understand, partially, your comment on the "incredible diversity" of TLDs that could follow our moel. I unerstand you comment, but don't share it, as it is factually innacurate if we look into linguistic communitites that could afford and be interested in sustaining such a TLD. But in any case I'd like stressing that the sme could be said of .jobs or .eng.pro: how many economic activity fields can we think of? Well beiyond the number of language codes within ISO 639-1, for sure. In any case .cat passed the evaluation last July, unlike many of those proposals alrady in the contractual negotiations with ICANN.
