I can't find any relevance to ICANN's mission in the top story linked under 'Announcements' on the ICANN web page.

News Item: First Prosecution under the Australian Spam Act
The Australian Federal Court decided last Friday to award pecuniary penalties of AUD$4.5 million against a company and AUD$1 million against its managing director.

Does this make any sense to anyone? Why is this on the ICANN web site?

I was wondering that myself. Maybe after the IGF they are feeling emboldened to expand their mandate to all Internet protocols. I hope it was just a mistake.
